Photo Collage Maker - CollageFactory Free App Reviews

Maybe paid version is good, but the free one is a waste of time. Won’t let you resize things. Will only print teeny tiny picture. Uninstalled.

I just downloaded this program and said new collage, I opened Photos app on my Mac and tried to drag-drop a photo into Collage and nothing. I then click on the add photo icon in Collage and it opens up my Finder. Seriously? I have iPhoto (now Photos) open and I can’t simply drag/drop a photo I have to drill down numerous levels to “try” and find the image I want to use? Sorry, but unless I’m doing something wrong…this program is very cumbersome and old fashioned if you can’t drag directly from Mac Photos. I’ll keep trying other apps until I find one (I use Pic Stitch on my iPhone and iPad and it works amazing - so simply looking for something comparable). Help!

Was hoping it would interface with Photos on Mac (not iPhoto) but nope—doesn’t. Disappointed.

I’m pleased with the app at a basic level, but have three main complaints: 1) Neither the free or the paid app respect the way iPhoto/Photos tags image rotation. Take a photo in portrait orientation, your photo ends up in iPhoto/Photos, you see that photo in portait orientation in iPhoto or photos as expected, add that photo to this app and it’s displayed in the assets panel to the left in the correct orientation, but when you drop it into the collage, it reverts to landscape. As I understand it *every* photo is landscape until a digital camera tags the photo as in a different orientation. The app seems confused about that tag, and a portrait photo shows up correctly in the asset pane but not in the actual collage. This behavior is the same in the paid app version as well. 2) to exacerbate the above, the enticing row of rotating/editing buttons at the bottom of the app window are grayed out and don’t work. Nor do they work in the paid app. 20 bucks for a collage app that a) doesn’t respect the orientation flag of photos from iPhoto / Photos when imported into a collage and b) can’t alter that orientation with it’s own tools visible in the window is a really hefty price to ask. 3) There’s no preferences pane. I’m sure there’s *something* the user would want to pre-determine and set in a preference pane. Weird. Overall, I’d say “meh. it made the collage. i guess.” Looking forward to a future version that corrects the above.

I was trying to do a photo collage for my grandaughter’s first birthday. I did one easliy on a competing program but then learned it would cost me $40 to remove the watermark. I found this and completed the job with a little difficulty because of my technical challenge. Should i want to do others and/or improve my range of options i would upgrade this app. Appreciate the availability and quality and can’t beat the price!

Based on the reviews, I expected this to be easy to use, more intuitive and easy to manuever, but it’s really not. Photos needed to be downloaded one by one, dragged one by one, onto the collage. I didn’t feel like it was user friendly at all.

This is a great program for making callages. It was a little difficult in the beginning (what program is not difficult), but with a little use I figured it out. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was the fact that it does not close well; I had to force close my computer to close the program, other than that, this is a great program and it is FREE!!! The paid version is only $19.99 and I guess that version does a lot more like greeting cards and other things, I just needed a collaging program, so the free version works for me, the the price is not bad and it is Apple approved.

I opened the app and began adding pictures to my collage and as I was trying to change one out, The entire app FROZE. I have tried everything to uninstall it. Now I can’t even shut my computer down. Thanks a freakin lot…. …

Simpy put, I was not impressed and you won’t be either. You’re limited to how many you can edit and after a while you can’t even rotate a file?! Are you fricken’ kiddin’ me?? No way.

seemed great until i exported the jpg and it was super blurry. whats the point if it ruins the quality.

I’ve only used it once, but it seems to work well and is easy to use.

I paid $30 for another program to make a collage for our Christmas card. What a rip off! I wound up using this free app and it was easier and much better to use.

All I wanted to do was print two pictures side-by-side in landscape mode on 4x6 paper. Never could get it to work.

Simple to use. Having fun with it. I have E- mailed several collages.

This app does not allow you to import pictures from Photos, and it is not possible to drag and drop pictures from Photos into this app. If you want to use pictures from your Photos-Library, you first have to export your pictures to your hard drive, and then import your pics again to use them in the Photo Collage Maker. Sorry, that was not what I was looking for ;-(

Takes a little learning to catch on, but once you do, it is great. Can email complete page which is fabulous!

I downloaded this app because I wanted to do a collage picture; I have to say that it worked perfectly. I recommend it to anyone who needs an app like this one. Thanks.
